FRENCH LOPS

Our french lops came about through an unusual turn of events.

In 2004 there was a charity auction running which included a black self french buck kit. We fell in love with the rabbit and after doing a lot of research on the breed one thing led to another, and after comments of, that’s a real rabbit, we agreed that we had to have him. Sadly this was not to be, as the kit fell ill and died before we even met him, but another frenchie from his breeder became our first french lop.

This has now developed into just over half a dozen frenchies, and while we are showing these and occasionally breeding, they are the male orientated side of the family’s rabbits.

Our 2 year old son, would not be without these fabulous rabbits, even if daddy will not let him handle them (they are almost half his size and twice as powerful!). And for that matter, neither would we.

As with any animal, they all have their own characters and needs, and this adds to their attractiveness.
